About Us

Rafti is a family owned business with 40 years experience servicing the Altona, Newport, Williamstown & Yarraville area.   

As a teenager, Bill Koziaris was trained in Athens as a Tailor.  Bill migrated to Australia and worked for local tailors before he and his wife started North Altona Tailors & Alterations in 1981.  

The husband and wife team worked tirelessly servicing the needs of the local area.  Services included tailored suits, alterations, mending & menswear.  

In 2015 the store was refurbished, added a modern range of high-quality menswear, and changed their name to Rafti (meaning tailor in Greek).  

Bill Koziaris continues to work in the store on a part-time basis in between trips back to family in Greece and has passed on valuable knowledge to our tailors and seamstresses.  His son helps with the administration of the business.
